Installing Apache Tomcat 8 from Tarball on CentOS 7

Before proceeding, ensure you have access to the latest core tarball of Apache Tomcat. You can download it from Apache Tomcat's download page for their latest core tarball: `sudo wget`. As of writing this guide, Tomcat 9.0.33 is the latest version.

To begin the installation process, first create a directory to download Apache Tomcat 8. Run the following command: `sudo mkdir /usr/local/tomcat`.

Next, change to the `/usr/local/tomcat` directory and download Apache Tomcat 8. You will need these files in a later section to install the Apache Tomcat.

To check the version of Java that is installed on your system, run the following commands: `sudo yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk-headless`. Remember to include `sudo` before running any command that requires elevated privileges.
